The Versatile Blogger Award 2018

Wow! Thank you so much Melanie. What an honor it is to accept this nomination for The Versatile Blogger Award from you sis. Thank you again for thinking of me 🙂 Friends, if you have not checked out Melanie’s blog God Makes All Things New please go do so now. I’ll wait……..la la la……

Ok, now we can continue 🙂

Here is a little history on the award and it’s rules…

What is the Versatile Blogger Award?

• The versatile blogger award is given to bloggers by bloggers as a recognition of the uniqueness of their content and individuality.

• It is also a way to honor bloggers who bring something special to your life whether every day or now and then.

• The award is run by VBA. Check them out.

Rules!

• Thank the person who gave you this award.

• Include a link to their blog.

• Next, select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly

• Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award — you might include a link to this site.

• Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

I don’t know what’s harder…nominating 15 bloggers that inspire me, because you all do or sharing 7 things about myself.

Guess I’ll start with sharing 7 things about Stu…

From the age of 12, when I ran across my dad’s Playboy magazine, til I was 42 I struggled with sexual integrity that led me down a very dark road. It didn’t stop when I got married. It stopped when the only thing I could do was cry out to God. I had to hit rock bottom.

I love going to Celebrate Recovery. I actually get more out of it than I do Sunday church. Even our pastor said he preaches better when he speaks at CR than behind the pulpit. I believe it is because the masks are off and real issues are openly talked about. Hope and freedom are sought after and not just a tickling of the ear.

I love spending quality time in conversation getting to know someone on a deeper level.

Oh…have I ever mentioned I’m a chocoholic…lol

Sometimes I hate being a male. Simply because, as a male, I get stereotyped based on the a**holes in the world and how they treat women. (More coming on that topic later…if I have the nerve to tackle it)

I love it when I start crying while praying for someone because, to me, it means that the Lord has truly placed that person deeply on my heart. It shows that I love them and care for them deeply.

Lastly, if you take the time to get know me and we become friends, then you have a friend for life. I will always be there if needed. For true friendships are rare and should be cherished.

Now for the nominees…

There are so many that should be nominated, for all of you are unique and touch my heart or mind in one way or another.

  5. Broken pottery is God’s invitation; like when Jesus said only the sick need the doctor. Every day we break one way or the other and there He is, His arms so close to make us new again. That’s why I’m very proud to associate myself with you, Stu. You allow us into your cracks so we can have a glimpse of the miracle working hands of our great God. Thank you and to God be the glory 💞

Congrats again and again. And thanks for thinking of Alethea’s Mind! It’s such an honour.

It brought me to tears because that has always been my desire for this blog…for people to see God…

          1. Thank God that your desires were not cut short at all. I saw a picture yesterday that pointed so strongly to what I said, and I thought of you. It was a picture of a broken pot that was mended with gold. I knew it wasn’t a coincidence to come across it at that time. It was God telling me those words were true. Keep shining for Him!

  6. Stu, you have such a beautiful soul. I love your honesty, compassion, and heart for God and others. Your ministry is so important!

I recently found out my 13 year old daughter had gotten curious and had started watching porn on the internet. Kids are smart and know how to hide it. We as parents like to think our kids would never do such a thing. But I am thankful to God I caught her, so we could talk about it. I would appreciate some prayers for her that the Lord would help erase those images from her mind.

Congrats on your much deserved award! And thanks so much for the nomination!

    Blessings,

    Denine

    1. Thank you so much Denine. I truly needed your words of encouragement this morning.

I am so sorry to hear this news about your daughter. I am thankful you caught and was willing to have that hard conversation with her. Sadly, I feel most parents would let it go as just curiosity and not talk with their child about it.

Of course I will be praying for your daughter and you, for I know to well the dangers of those images.

You are very welcome for the nomination. You deserve it. Your posts have made me think 🙂

      God bless,
      Stu

      1. Thanks for your prayers!!! I truly believe it is the heart felt prayers (like yours) that moves the heart of God.

“When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.” John 11:33

Also, my thought was when talked to my daughter I didn’t want her to think that was what love, marriage, and sex is suppose to be like. I also told I can’t watch her all the time and she has to make good decisions about what she allows into her life. I do keep checking in on her more. I know too we are not our sins, and we have all fallen for the lies.

        You are a blessing!

May God continue bless you in all that you do!

God does hear the cries of His people. And I am always available to pray for my brothers and sisters. Email privately if you need to.
