Have you ever washed your wife’s feet? I mean in humility with all the love and care you have.
You see when Christ washed the disciples feet it was a sign of servant hood and of love. He loved his disciples as they were to be the cornerstones, the foundation, of the church based on His truth. For without having Christ with them they could not have been able to share His truth with confidence. And though he was their Master he was also their servant to show them what it meant to follow after Him.
When you married your wife and said your vows you were saying she is now a cornerstone, the chief foundation on which something is constructed or developed, upon which the rest of my life will be based around. And as the master, an example of Christ in your marriage, of the home you are to love your wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her (the bride).
I challenge you husbands to get a wash bucket and a towel. Set aside alone time just you and your wife. Pray a prayer of love and leadership for your wife and then wash her feet with every ounce of love and respect you have. A change will take place in your marriage and it will start with you.
