Mia at Called To Be A Writer floored me this morning. I was catching up on reading everyone’s most recent post and see that Mia was nominated for the Light Of The World Award. So, I go to congratulate her for a well deserved award, as she does let her light shine brightly so the world can see Christ, and I see my name 😯.
I was so touched by her kind words for my blog. Guys, if I ever do write a book, as suggested by several of you, I believe I will ask Mia to write the introduction 😎.
Sis, it is such an honor to be nominated for this amazing award by you. This award is dedicated to God, because without Him I would not be here writing, much less pointing people to Him and His amazing love that forgives, heals and redeems.
This award was created by Joe over at Lighthouse Devotions “to honor authors (bloggers) whose presence on the web serve as a shining light for Christ and His Gospel of salvation.” The reason behind this award is what makes being nominated for it all that much sweeter.
What three words would you use to describe your blog?
Honest, real and thought-provoking
In what way(s) can a Christian shine for Christ?
As corny as it may sound…
Do until others as you would have it done to you.
I’m not going into why I say that because it deserves a whole post by itself. It boils down to random acts of kindness and love.
What bible verse (quote it) talks about being a light in a dark and lost world?
Here is the verse I have chosen:
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16 KJV
I chose this verse because I truly believe that if our faith in God is real, then our love for Him will radiate from the inside out and become a beacon of hope to a lost world. It means loving the “unlovable” as Christ loved us.
What Christian song do you know that has the word “light” in it? Provide a link if available.
Going ole school 🙂
I had to throw a rocker in here too 🙂
Here are my nominees 🙂
Denine at Live Today is pointed people to God and letting them know that they can live a life worth living by following Christ
Cindi at Ramblings Of A Zealot is an amazing woman who has been through so much, yet her light still shines, despite those hardships. It’s such a joy reading her morning and evening prayer posts.
Joshua at God’s Warrior is taking up his cross, learning to deny himself and follow Christ while giving us a glimpse into his journey.
T.F. at Hard Times Ministries writes from the heart and tells it like it is. Your faith is either real or it’s not.
Desiray at The Devotion Café is just a blessing and has been for years.
Johanna at Glowing Still is mentoring wives on how important intimacy is both in and out of the bedroom. Let’s face it, if you are married your love for Christ and His light should shine in the home first and foremost.
To those I nominated, please understand that you do not have to participate. I know several of your sites or ministry only or they are award free zones. I just wanted you to know that I appreciate what you are doing and that I do see your light shining.
