The White Dress

As I said in my previous Tell The Story Challenge two of John’s photos he chose struck a cord with me.

Here is the other photo from John’s challenge that touched me…

Father I am scared!

There are so many spiders with their clingy arms and snakes lurking around with their deceiving tongues out there.

God, I don’t want to soil my white dress.

I’m saving it for my wedding night. I want to keep my purity for my future one and only love.

But God what will become of me if something terrible happens and I fall? I may lose my purity!

Oh my dear child. How I love your desire for purity.

I know of the spider and snakes out there. I also know all the words they will use to sway you.

There will be trials, temptation and sin in your life. Sadly it has been this way since the dawn of time. It was not my will but it happened.

And you may fall child. You may do it freely for someone whom you believe you truly love or you may fall because someone pushed you. And yes you could be with the spiders and snakes for a while.

But that is why I sent my son Jesus. I sent Him to die so that if you do fall your dress can be made white again.

My son, Jesus is your true bridegroom! And when the time comes for the wedding day, oh how magnificent your white dress will be. As a matter of fact it will look like freshly fallen snow.

Do you know why?

Yes, God. I do. Its because I have accepted your son as my Lord and Savior. And despite all the spiders and snakes, temptation and sin His blood that He shed on Calvary washes my sins away.
