Trafficked: The Hidden Connection Of Pornography | Unintended Results

Here is the devotional:

The older I get, the more I love chocolate cake. My wife and I have been trying to eat better for about a year now, and we’ve made some good progress. She’s always worked out and stays fit, so it was a little easier for her to make adjustments. For this Cajun, food is a bid deal, and we love good food. I cut my desserts down to two days a week, which significantly impacted my weight loss.

But I let my guard down a bit.

I was too close to Krispy Kreme when the hot light was on and wound up with a hot dozen doughnuts. Then I ran across an easy way to buy a single slice of chocolate cake at the store. Four pounds later, it’s time to get a handle on this before I undo all I have accomplished.

I have no one to blame for those four pounds by myself. Krispy Kreme and Publix didn’t force me to buy those sweets. I did that myself and bam!—four pounds I need to work off again.

Our scripture verse tells us the same thing about the consequences of sexual immorality. Our verse tells us that of all the sins, this one is against our own body. You and I may not have intended that, but that is just what happens.

We may feel like we are not hurting anyone with our sexual immorality approach, but we are wrong. 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

Face it, left to our own choices, we are weak and depraved. But God knew we needed a helper and gave us the Holy Spirit.

The question is, do we tap into the power of the Holy Spirit?

Statistic: Sex trafficking is big business. It generates $150 billion annually, just from commercial sexual exploitation alone.

Uncommen questions:

Do you approach your body as if it belongs to God?
Can you identify the decisions you have made that you need to change?
Uncommen challenge:

I challenge both you and me to pray for strength during the first sign of temptation. Take every thought captive and rely upon the Holy Spirit to help you through each day.

Scripture reference: 1 Corinthians 6:18

Here are the scriptures referenced:

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
1 Corinthians 6:18 KJV

Here are Stu’s thoughts:

🤔🤔

I believe they chose the wrong verse for this one…

Fornication is sex between two consenting unmarried people.

I guess if you know the person who you are watching in the video is single and you are single it could be fornication as they know someone is going to watch the video and either masturbate to or have sex with it playing on the screen for arousal.

This verse is better…

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Colossians 3:5 KJV

I use this verse as it more accurate when pertaining to the viewing of pornography.

Mortify means to subdue the body or its needs and desires by self-denial or discipline.

Fornication definition given above.

Uncleanness is self explanitory

Inordinate affection means irregular passions, disorderly passions,  excessive passions and immoderate passions

Evil concupiscence means an evil sexual desire.

That pretty much describes porn viewing! That also very well describes sex trafficking! Both, no matter how much you like your porn, are evil and a sin ince they go against God’s design for sex within marriage!

And when you throw in what Jesus about a looking at a women with lust IN your heart you have already committed adultery with her in his your heart.

Any sexual activity outside the bonds of marriage is a sin. And it’s a sin against your own body no matter which way you look at at.

About the only way we Christians can help in the fight against sex trafficking is to mortify our bodies by dying to ourselves on the daily. Therefore, we can honor God with our bodies through sexual purity!

The marriage bed is Holy don’t defile it !!

Yes, sex is awesome. But in the right context it is exceptionally amazing. Plus sex in the spiritual realm is the bonding of two souls.

So whoever you have had sex with there is a bond that you may not realize is still there with that person. It’s trippy but oh so real! Ask the Lord to remove those bonds!

More on that one later maybe…

But for now dear brothers and sisters let us pray for all victims of sex trafficking past and present. Let us pray for the porn star. And let us pray for the porn addict or user for their deliverance!

Let’s see what they share with us tommorow.
