This is something I have been wondering for a while now. This is a very serious question we must ask ourselves.
Most folks, when we Christians say missions think of someone going onto foreign soil to share the good news to people that have not heard it. Examples being some remote tribe of people in Africa, Australia, Peru, Honduras, etc.
Some may even think of trips to India, China, or maybe even Russia.
These are ALL real valid places that need the gospel shared in…please don’t misunderstand that!
But allow me share something. I have friends that are missionaries. They’re basically stuck where they have been assigned due to the Coronavirus. Soon, mark my words, no one will be able to board a plane without PROOF they have taken the vaccine.
So the missionaries that are in the field now…well they’re still on a mission but you may as well call their assigned mission field home now.
Missions as the world and heck even the church see them could be a thing of the past😮
So what do we do?
How are we going to share the good news of Jesus if we can’t do mission trips?
The answer truly lies within each of us! It always has and always will be.
If you are a child of God, a born again Christian and follower of Christ, then THE moment you wake up you are in the mission field if you have a spouse and/or kids.
If you are a child of God, a born again Christian and follower of Christ, then THE moment you step out of your door…BOOM! You have just entered the mission field!
It really doesn’t matter if you believe those two statements or not because it’s irrelevant…a mute point…case closed. It’s the TRUTH!
Let’s take a look at a few scriptures shall we…
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew 28:19 KJV
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15 KJV
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
15:12 KJV
With each of these moments in history Jesus was addressing His disciples.
We, as followers of Christ, are disciples. We may not see ourselves as such but we are for we have accepted the doctrine of Christ into our hearts!
Disciple…follower…one and the same.
SO, it IS our duty to share Christ.
Of course it starts at home. If you are married your spouse is first in line. If you have kids they are second in line. They ARE your mission field.
What about your kids friends?
What about your spouse’s best friend?
What about your neighbor across the street or around the corner?
Yep!
Let’s go further out…
What about the grocery clerk?
What about your boss or fellow employees?
Yep!
Let’s go further out…
What about that person spray painting graffiti everywhere?
What about that strung out person on the corner?
What about that scantily clad woman you see walking around town?
What about the person pushing all their belongings around in an old shopping cart?
The answer is YES!! They are all part of YOUR mission field!
I’m not saying make some podium on the side of the road and get a microphone or anything. Though if God calls you to do that…well…do it.
I’m saying that our world is dying! It IS going to hell in an anything goes handbasket. AND IT IS WAY PAST TIME for us, the church, to get off our dereari and get real with folks!
And by get real I mean…
Share the REAL truth!
Share the REAL hope!
Share the REAL love!
Share the REAL forgiveness!
Share the REAL Jesus!
We have people living in our country…the United States of America who have never heard the gospel😮
Our mission field is ripe but it’s about to spoil😥
Jesus didn’t come to this earth for the high and might who have it all together (though they are part of His plan). Jesus came for the sick!
And trust me…everyone has a little sickness in them. A bad habit, a selfish thought, a problem with something, an addiction in one form or another in within almost everyone on this planet!
They need a doctor to cure them and we have the antidote.
Administer the antidote by telling them about Jesus and let the doctor, Jesus, do His thing!
Father,
Give each of us a desire to share the Gospel with everyone. May we reach out to this dying world and light a fire under it that scares the devil himself!
We talk about revival Lord…let us become that revival and not wait for another to start it!
Amen!

So right Stu, our mission field is right around us!

A to the men on this one, Stu. We need to just look around us. Revival is HERE, not somewhere down the road. 🙌🏼

Amen! Stu you are speaking truth. If we don’t share with the ones we see everyday, how can we effectively go to some foreign land to do it? All the nations reside in the USA. Lord, give us your heart for the lost!
