The Kennedy Award Of Excellence

I am totally floored, deeply touched, humbled and honored!

Guys, Maxine over at Heavensreef has nominated me for this cool prestigious award.

The creator of this award, Parneet S Sachdev, states this is a registered award of excellence for blogs that through it’s writing, presentation and objectives, fosters human values; promoting intellectual, emotional and moral growth of peers. 😮

Maxine, my dear sister and friend, thank you so much for this. I am always touched by your comments, support, prayer and encouragement!

Here are the guidelines:

  • The recipient may thank the person who has nominated her.
  • The recipient should post a photo of the award on her blog in a post.
  • The recipient may nominate as many blogs for this award (minimum five).
  • Following questions to be answered (You can change the questions as per your wish)

Here are the questions Maxine asked:

1. During these difficult times, what are you doing to draw near to GOD?

Nothing has truly changed for me in this regard. I still read my Bible daily and pray. It does seems as if I am praying more here of late. Just random prayers throughout the day for friends, those I love, my fellow co-workers and the state of the world.

2. How have you extended GOD’S mercy to someone recently?

This one is a hard one to answer surprisingly enough. It happens all the time at work, with the kids and even Angie (that one is just me being selfish because I want to talk to her and she is too physically and mentally tired to talk at the time I call).

I guess the main would be my ex-wife and how she acts at times. She’ll act one way with Brandon and another way with Erin. Ticks me off to no end. She knows how it feels as her mom did the same to her and her sister growing up.

I have to be the example to the kids and explain to them why they each need to forgive her as I do for the things she does that hurts me.

3. What does your heart beat for right now during this uncertain time?

For the world to become color blind in reference to people and to love one another.

4. How have you been blessed by your own followers?

I am constantly blessed my followers/friends 😊 Many have come to my in so many ways from prayer, encouragement, advice, our prayer group and other ways. I have been truly blessed😊

5. Out of the many many comments you have received from your followers, is there one in particular that you have cherished?

There are many that have touched me and even made me cry as I hear how God has touched another through my words. But this one got me the hardest…

Stuart, I was in the casino yesterday morning and for some strange reason started to look at Facebook. The first thing I saw was a link to “something to Stu over” so I tapped it and began to read right there at a slot machine. I might add that this was Sunday morning at the time I should of been in church. The blog was about you asking forgiveness from a porn star. As I read thru your blog, a friend of mine leaned over my shoulder to see what I was doing and began reading the blog also. As we read thru the blog we looked at each other about halfway thru and both of us had tears in our eyes. I cannot explain but the presence of God was so all over us it was unbelievable!!! It was so inspiring to read and I want you to know that God is using you because God spoke to me thru your words! Keep up the wonderful work of God. I love you brother!

The following comment came after sharing the same post on Facebook…

Thank you, Stuart. Thank you. Now I’m the one sitting here crying.

25 years ago, I was a victim of sex trafficking. Sometimes, those rapes were recorded. I have no idea what happened to those tapes or how many people may have seen them.

It was only last week I was finally able to share that particular detail of what happened to me. Now, God has used your words to let me know he is aware of me, and what I have been through, and he will continue to help me heal.

Thank you.

It is amazing how God works!

Here are my recipients 😊

My questions?!? Let’s go with Maxine’s! I really liked them.

  2. Thanks for the nomination Stu, sincerely appreciated but I have decided to forgo the awards that come my way. No criticism from me for those who do, just a personal choice of mine. Why I am commenting is about the positive feedback you got from some of your readers. I just wanted to add onto that encouragement, you are unique and you wear your heart on your sleeve and God loves you, as do I. We write differently and cover different topics but you serve our Lord and I am proud to call you my brother. Just wanted you to know that. Blessings to you and yours as always. – Bruce

  3. Stu, your blog eminently measures up to the standards of this award. You are a blessing.
It is so humbling and awesome when God allows us a peek into the way He works through us. I mean, like, goosebumps and tears and shivers and catch-your-breath. It is one of the ways He encourages us, as His Spirit works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure.
