Sunday Music: This Hope | Break My Plans

This song is inspired by Nikolai Moldoveanu’s imprisonment for his faith in the 1940’s in Romania. He was a hymnist and wrote many of his hymns while in prison.

He was sentenced to 10 years but served only five. He wrote over 300 hymns in that time with pen and paper. Many are still being sung in Romania today.

Can you imagine being sent to prison just for believing In Christ or sharing Him with others?

I can’t. But it does happen in other countries around he world.

And I fear one day soon it could happen here in the states.

Let us pray for one another around the world tonight for strength, peace and safety!

  1. I once heard someone say that maybe a little persecution is what some Christians need to stir up fire
But I do NOT wish this on anyone and how cool that he wrote so many hymns in prison
And once heard someone preach about when Paul was in jail a witnessed to a couple the first time – then another time (when the chains broke and he could have left) he witnessed to the jailer and small group
And then! The next time wrote parts of the NT which are still impacting people today as God’s Holy Spirit moves in this world!
But the real thing I wanted to chime in on here was this:
Let us pray for one another around the world tonight for strength, peace and safety!
Amen to that and I just added my prayers into that mix –
    Thanks for that!
    😊🙏
