The Blogger Recognition Award 2019 | 2nd Nomination

Yoo-hoo! Destiny has recognized my blog as being worthy of The Blogger Recognition Award! IF you have not checked out my little sis’ blog…shame on you. Just kidding! Seriously though…go check her blog out. She truly speaks from her heart and has started a new series too 🙂

“The Blogger Recognition Award was created by bloggers as a way of celebrating others within the community. This posts allows us to recognize some of our favourites, and help promote their work and positive influence in the blogging world.”—Chloe @chloethefry

Here are the guidelines:

1. Thank the blogger who’s nominated you and provide a link to their site.

2. Write a post on your site displaying the award logo and explain why you started your blog.

3. Write two pieces of advice for new bloggers.

4. Notify and nominate 15 of your favourite bloggers.

How it all began:

My blogging journey began as a Facebook page called Spiritual Leaders of the Family and then Resurrecting The Redeemed For Porn Addiction where I would share pieces of my story in hopes of helping someone not make the same mistakes I did growing up as a porn watcher/sex addict and then later as a man who didn’t know how to lead his family the right way. It was a friend’s influence that prompted me to start blogging.

I am forever grateful to her for I have met some of the most amazing people in this wonderful community/family called the blogging world. People whom I have never met in person yet mean the world to me. Thanks guys for all your love, support and prayers!

Here is my advice on blogging after almost seven years:

BE YOU! Don’t write because you feel you have to. Write because there is a story tugging at your heart to be let loose! Be real…be honest…but be you. That’s what readers want the most!

My second bit of advice, since all the cyber-bullying is going on is this…DO NOT LET THEM GET TO YOU!

I’ve had athiests comment negatively about certain posts. Heck I’ve had fellow Christians comment negatively. I’ve had pro-porn people bash me for speaking out against porn. And yet I have stood my ground because I know my calling. My calling is just that…mine! Not theirs! God gave them a different calling and for a reason!

If they say your writing sucks then your next post should be My Writing Doesn’t Suck And Here’s Why. And then give the reason you write the way you do so everyone will understand even the goober name callers! Just kidding…sort of 🙂

I know words have power. That’s why when I actually do not like a post or a certain topic I just don’t comment.

But take a look at your comments and see the encouraging words of others and let the words of the naysayers roll of your back and into the trash can.

(Sorry, I got carried away)

Here are the ones I would like to recognize:

  2. Congratulations, my friend!! Your steadfast stance and unwillingness to yield your calling in the face of rampant, hypocritical intolerance and verbal abuse is inspiring. Thank you so much for standing tall for Christ. You haven’t denied Him and He won’t deny you!
I just watched the 1981 Chariots of Fire (AMAZING movie), and when Eric Liddell makes his stand to not run on the Sabbath to honor the Lord, despite the fact that it could potentially mean he wouldn’t be able to compete in the Olympics—something he’d spent three years training for—and was also heavily pressured by officials and even the future King of England to compromise his convictions, the Lord showed him grace and mercy and he ended up winning the gold at the Olympics! But before he ran that race, a fellow competitor handed him a note that read, “He who honors me, I will honor him.” He was well aware of Eric’s highly publicized stance of not running on the Sabbath, and it had moved him so he wrote that note of encouragement. Who knows? Maybe Eric wouldn’t have won if he hadn’t received that note. So good.
The Lord will honor you for honoring him.
Also, thank you so much for choosing my blog—! I am blown away. Especially since I’m on here so irregularly. Thank you for your grace with that and the nomination means a lot.
    Blessings, friend!
    And keep writing!

    1. Mandy, thank you so much for this wonderful comment!

Chariots of Fire is an amazing movie! I believe had he not stood up for the Sabbath he would have lost. For another competitor to say hey I acknowledge you stance and give Liddell that note helped solidify his faith 🙂

It is my pleasure to give you the award. It is well deserved 🙂

      God bless,
