Stu’s World X

Oh my gosh, so much has happened since I wrote Stu’s World IX last week. And I have so many thoughts running through my head.

First let me share with you a picture of what the world calls a Cow Ant…

Now, I haven’t seen one these in decades but for some odd reason we have seen three this week on the lumber yard. And no, it wasn’t the same one as they each where of different sizes. This one being the biggest.

The velveteen ant or cow ant is actually a wasp. And if stung, you WILL most definitely feel it as it has a stinger half it’s body length and enough “venom” to where you feel it for thirty minutes or more.

The females are the ones you see walking around and they have no wings. The male on the other hand have wings and I have never seen one.

So what do we do at work when we see one. We have it walk on a divider stick and we pick it up and play with it for a while as it walks back and forth from one end of the stick to the other. Then we put her down and let her go about her way.

The third one we saw was a baby that wasn’t even a quarter of inch long. Totally cool.

The guys at work have been messing with me because I have eating Chinese all week instead of my normal tuna out of a can for lunch. I’m like hey I love Chinese food and I’m sick of tuna so allow me to indulge myself for a bit πŸ™‚

Fortune cookies sometimes will actually have some truth to them πŸ‘Š

We have come to find out Erin did not rebreak her ankle. It was just severely sprained. She will be good as new in a few months. She is in a boot so she can get out on the mat and teach the younger kids. Thank you all so much for praying for my little angel πŸ™‚

Brandon has hyperextend his knee. He just seems to have to be hurt when his sister is…lol.

Then Thursday I get this…this urgent feeling I need to call Angie. Sadly, I did not call right away as I was at the Taekwondo school with the kids. But I wish I had. She ended up trying to stop two dogs from fighting. By the time I called she was sitting in the hospital waiting to be seen. She has ended up with eleven stitches in her leg.

We had very short but meaningful conversation and then texted for a while…

So yeah, that conversation happened. I’m not holding my breath…as things have a tendency to never go the way we think or wish. It would be awesome to see her though!

Please continue praying for healing because standing and walking puts pressure on her stitches. The one on the bottom of her leg is the worst.

Brandon will be gone for another week to his last Church camp of the summer. I will miss him this week but I know how much fun he will have with all the other kids πŸ™‚

And sadly Princess passed away. I came home from work and she was just laying on her rug in the bathroom. I have no freaking idea how it happened as she was fine when I left for work 😦

Blogging wise, I just started Mirror Mirror. Which I’m not sure how long it will take me to write as it is hard to write from a woman’s perspective. So I may alternate who is in front of the mirror as the story progresses…not sure yet.

I am pondering doing another Bible study here that several of us completed on the YouVersion Bible app not too long ago πŸ™‚

And I have also been reading that several more bloggers may go towards an award free zone. I will not be one of those bloggers and here is why…

Yes, it takes time to do an award justice with the answering of questions, coming up with your own questions and the nominating a certain number of other bloggers to participate. I get it. It can take me over a week to do one award with all the other things I am working on.

BUT, if someone likes my blog enough and feels as if little ole Stu is deserving of an award I will always do my best to participate in the awards, tag or whatever it may be.

I have a mission about my blog. And I can incorporate said mission doing awards and tags. Some bloggers can not. I respect that.

If you are one of the bloggers sitting on the fence please remember you can not please everyone all the time. It takes time to an award…so take your time. Don’t feel rushed and heck don’t feel obligated to participate in every one you are given. You can pick and choose.

For me they are fun because they break up the seriousness of my blog at times and it gives me the opportunity to share things about myself that I normally would not designate an entire post to.

Please continue praying for one another through out the week. We all could use prayer support.

Love you guys! Have a great week πŸ™‚

  1. SO much going on! Praying for everyone!
Wow! What an ant! or Wasp! A wasp that doesn’t fly?? hmm. Interesting.
I am sure many bloggers who have NEVER received an award will appreciate the nominations, Stu!
Personally, God leads me to use them to encourage others and tell God loves them! And give Him praise!
Do what the Lord leads you to do. That what I desire to do most.
I may need to start keeping a list of who does not want awards. It’s so hard to remember.
Love that picture of Brandon! God loves you each one!

    1. They are interesting little creatures and so pretty! I try real hard to spread the awards out. And you do a tremendous job of sharing God through the awards you accept!

Sometimes I wish I could have a dull week but then that just wouldn’t be me I guess…lol.

      Thanks for continually praying sis!

  2. Whew! Busy man… I remember these ants/wasps when I still lived down south. We called them “Cattle Killers,” but I guess I really never knew the proper name. Just looked it up… Velvet Ants or Cow Killer Ants, so we were close enough. Good seeing this post. God is good!

      1. I LOVE that photo of Brandon!
Your wasps intrigue me, but I don’t ever want to meet one.
I have a different mission for my blog, and I’m not led to sharing as much that way. But I do love this blogging community!

  3. Hi Brandon! πŸ‘‹πŸ» Good picture! You look like your dad.

    That bug is crazy! No, no way. You play with those? 😳 She would give me nightmares. {{shudder}}

You eat tuna out of the can too? πŸ˜‚ What kind of Chinese food do you get? Good quotes!

Oh wow, she is very pretty brother Stuart!!! Are you going to see her?

Mirror Mirror with alternate people?!!! Oh my goodness, YASSSSSSS!

Bible study… yes!!! I’m not good at commenting, but I love reading everyone’s thoughts. I stay in my corner and am not a very good participant. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I thought you were gonna say, β€œI will not be doing any more awards…” 😬 Whew! πŸ˜‚ Yours are the best. 😎

    1. I will tell you said that when he gets back from camp! πŸ™‚

Well, I don’t pick them up with my hands πŸ™‚

I ate tuna out of a can because it was a cheap lunch. Plus it has so much protein in it. My taste buds change daily but I always get rice noodles and some sushi. Bourbon chicken if the have it. Now if I go to a Hibachi grill it’s open game πŸ™‚ scallops, shrimp, fried rice, seaweed salad…yummers!

She said she is going to try to come see me Saturday after I get off work and stay til Sunday. But all that depends on her son’s schedule. I told her spending time with him is more important than spending time with me.

I still haven’t decided how to work the dual sided mirror thing. Give me a few days πŸ™‚

I’m not good at commenting on them either. I love reading everyone else’s thoughts on scripture and occasionally I will jump in.

Thank sis 😊 I truly appreciate you encouragement on the awards!

  4. This post just touched my heart! I feel I went from happy to sad within 0-3 seconds flat! Im glad to see the convo with Angie was a happy, πŸ˜„ then there was Princess dying! 😭😭 That truly brought tears to my eyes! So sorry! I know you and Brandon are heart-broken! Then, there was the fence moment…I had almost fell over that one, but you have convinced me to stay on board with the awards. I didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings if I missed any. I hate hurting anyone. So thanks brother for that.πŸ™‚πŸ˜„

    1. Oh, I didn’t mean to make you cry and I especially did not want you to jump from happy to sad that fast. I’m sorry 😦

I am happy about the conversation regardless if she come to see me or not. Her feelings are right there in black and white as are mine ❀. We love each other!

I was trying to convince anyone to decide which side of the fence to cross over to. I just wanted everyone to know I will continue to accept and participate in them and why I choose to πŸ™‚

It does get overwhelming when you are nominated for a bunch in a row. But I spread them out.

Then they will stop doing for like six months and then the cycle begins again…lol.

I am glad you will continue to do them. We readers enjoy reading yours πŸ™‚

      1. There is one thing for sure, Stu, God answers prayers and definitely unified prayers! Right there in b/w is that love declaration! We are rejoicing with you! 😍it!

And that was ok to be happy and sad all rolled up in one lol. That’s just me anyways! Just hate that poor Princess is no longer with us! Rip Princess! πŸ‘Έ Hope Brandon is ok…

I’m so thankful, like you, that people thought enough of my blog to even think about giving me an award. That is always truly humbling. I will space them out. Thanks so muchπŸ™‚
