The Struggle Is Real: Day 11

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

1 Peter 3:8‭-‬12 KJV

Do you know that you should not get in a shouting match where you rail each other with words said out of anger?

Yeah, me either…lol

But it’s right there in scripture. And the weird thing is not in the fact we are not supposed rail each other but that He wants us giving a blessing to those who are railing us.

What?!?

I guess the only comeback I have to that is this…

Christ was ridiculed…

He was beaten…

He was stripped naked and hung on a cross…

He never lashed out…

He never cursed those who mocked Him…

He never spit back at them…

Instead He blessed them by dying for them.

That come and follow me is not an easy thing to accomplish.

Constantly we are called to love as Christ did.

Yet, love it the true key.

But even when love is involved there can still be feelings hurt and anger but it is THAT same love that asks for forgiveness.

May we all pay more attention to our actions and words as to not hurt another.

  1. Truthfully spoken! Stu, your thoughts help us to journey through life with the right attitude and perspective. When we follow Jesus’ example, we will be blessed in the knowledge of walking in His steadfastness.

  2. It is surprising, in the Old Testament law, how people are guided to share one with another. It’s all laid out, what to do and not do. We can follow the actions of love, even if we don’t have the feelings. Love trumps it all.
