Satan’s Lies | God’s Replies: Day 46 The Word of God Does Not Contradict Itself

Satan’s Lie:
Word: That whole Bible-thing is a bunch of crock to me. Full of inconsistencies.

God’s Reply:

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV

Yeah, I can see where some people could say that. But if I cherry picked verses I could say the same thing. I’m not a cherry picker.

From beginning to end scripture is about Jesus.

It is also about God’s Holiness.

Yes, even when God told Moses and Aaron to kill all those people he was showing His Holiness.

When He turned His back on His Son He was showing His Holiness.

And unfortunately when God places souls outside of His presence for eternity for not accepting what Christ did on the cross He is showing His holiness.

Yeah, people screwed up a lot…including Moses, Noah, David, Samson, Solomon and the list goes on. But His holiness still showed through!

And a person without the Holy Spirit living inside them can not fathom scripture. It makes no sense. But to a child of God, with the help of the Holy Spirit it does make sense.

I’ve read the bible through a few times in my life and the best knowledge ever came after rededicating my life to God after my separation from my ex-wife. Because when I sat down to read I WANTED to learn and I asked for guidance and wisdom to understand.

If you do that you will see there are no inconsistencies in scripture!

  1. This is so good. I was intimidated by scripture for a really long time. I was afraid it was going to leave me feeling more condemned, so I only read small passages so I could check off my spiritual to-do list. Once I began earnestly seeking relationship with God, WANTING to hear the truth in His Words, everything came to life and He showed me that the passages I previously found condemning were actually freeing. Learning about covenant theology also helped me a TON with the inconsistencies I thought I was seeing!

  2. Amen to that! During a Bible study one time, this person made this statement that really helped me to understand, and I have found to be true over time, “The Bible seems to contradict itself at times. You will find one scripture here that says something, and another one seems to totally contradict. But you will ALWAYS find a third scripture that blends them all together, and they will fit together like a glove.” I believe that is so true! Great is the mystery of godliness! Stu, you are so right! We all have to WANT TO LEARN. If we are hungry, God will always show His truths!
