Satan’s Lies | God’s Replies: Day 36 Our Eternal Home Is Not Based Our Being Perfect

Satan’s Lie:
Security: I’m in trouble if my future depends on how perfectly I live.

God’s Reply:

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
Jude 1:24‭-‬25 KJV

If our future in eternity depended on how perfect we are well… We would all be in trouble. And heaven would only have Angels, Cherubs, Jesus and God!

Thank God I do not have to depend on perfection to get into heaven. Because I’m not even remotely close. I make so many mistakes on a daily basis it’s scary. I do not have it all together and I never will until I get to heaven.

If we had to rely on that then the thief on the cross would not have been told by Jesus that today you will be with me in paradise. That thief was not living a perfect life. He was condemned to die for his crimes and he would have been eternally separated from God had he not done what he did on that cross hanging beside his Savior!

There was only one person EVER that was perfect. And He came FROM heaven, walked this Earth as a man, died on a cross so that we could GET to heaven. And not by our own merit mind you but THROUGH the shedding of HIS blood as the once and for all sacrificial lamb!

That is what your future depends on folks and nothing more!

Only Jesus can present you faultless before the glory and Holiness of God. For His blood has washed your sins away.

We thank you for sending your Son to die on the cross for our sins. We praise you for your loving kindness and mercy.

Though we are not perfect may we never take your grace for granted. For we know what our inheritance cost you.

  1. It is terrifying to think that our final outcome might depend on ourselves – we can’t juggle or control it all. And, It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Heb 10.31) Who can save us? Thanks be to God our Father and Jesus Christ, our Lord!

  2. Amen! We are made righteous in Jesus only. I loved your closing line. For though we are assured our place in heaven because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we do not take it for granted, for it cost Him everything. Grace and gratitude!
