Satan’s Lies | God’s Replies: Day 25 Understanding Scripture

Satan’s Lie:
Multiplying your ministry: I don’t need anyone to explain this to me. I can read my own Bible.

God’s Reply:

And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
Acts 18:11 KJV

I will admit his opening line of multiplying your ministry confused me at first. BUT, as I was studying for a Q &A post I am working on it dawned on me.

I needed help understanding the implications of a scripture for said post. So I reached out. I asked a pastor friend of mine and I hit the Greek and Hebrew on line to understand this one particular story in history. And well…😮🎆 it blew my mind.

So much about a certain sexual act makes sense now. But it also revealed how scripture can be so misunderstood.

So yeah, I can read my Bible all by myself. But I’m also smart enough to know that I do not, nor can I, understand all of it without help.

And heck, the greatest example of this is Jesus and His disciples. He, the living Word stayed with the disciples for 3 years teaching them and expounding on what they already knew on their own knowledge. Go back and read how many questions were asked and how many it is written statements Jesus expounded on!

Study to show thyself approved!

If you need help understanding ask for crying out loud. That’s how we learn is by asking questions of others!

And by asking we increase our knowledge, which in turn can expand our ministry!

Another example of this would be your spouse…

You can study them 24/7 for a year, but unless you ask questions of them you will NEVER understand them!
