Sunday Music: John Elefante | No One’s Ever Died For Me Before

A young boy in the synagogue teaching with great knowledge…

A man who just heard that one of his best friend’s had died…

A man praying so compassionately in a garden…

A man so beaten that even his own mother might not have recognized him…

A man who spoke it is finished as the last of all mankind’s sins were placed up him…

A man who died for you and I with eyes full of compassion…

A man who rose from the grave three days later just as His Father said He would…

A man who eyes, I am sure always reflected the love of His Father no matter what…

A man who changed history forever…

Jesus!

This song has always made me tear up.

Jesus didn’t jump in front of a bullet to save my physical body from harm.

He didn’t push me out of the way from being hit by a car to save my life.

He saved my soul!

He hung on a cross, taking all the crappy things I have done, thought and said upon himself thousands of years before I was born.

So that one day with tears in my eyes I would call out His name, accept what He did on the cross as truth, acknowledge that He rose from the grave and accept Him as Lord of my life.

Knowing full well everything I would do Jesus still chose to die for me anyway…because of the love of the Father!

The reason I cry everytime I hear this song is because I close my eyes and see the love in Jesus’ eyes for me!

And one day, when I get to heaven I will be able to look into Jesus’ eyes and really see His love for me.

And I know behind a shadow of a doubt that I will simply crumble at His feet wetting heaven’s floor with my tears until He lovingly picks me up and wipes away those tears saying welcome home my child, my brother, my friend…
