As it is Christmas time I will share two stories of two separate Christmas’s where different people stepped into my life and brought joy into the lives of my children.
The first three years after my wife and I split were almost the toughest ones for me in every aspect of my life.
The whole robbing Peter to pay Paul was my lifestyle while living paycheck to paycheck.
And Christmas was tough. I barely had the money to feed the kids when they spent the night much less buy presents.
But a friend of mine, who later became my love of a lifetime stepped in. She came to Monroe one day with the intention of buying presents for Brandon and Erin. She knew my situation, as we told each other everything. And she wanted to give joy and happiness to my kids as she had just lost one of her sons in a car wreck.
We both enjoyed the experience of spending time together, shopping and holding hands. And to see her smile…how could I say no to the things she wanted to get the kids??
I will not say how much she had set aside for that day but I do have a few pictures I will share ๐
Lightning McQueen!!
The aftermath
Look at that smile ๐
And this smile ๐
Yes, we had a tea party ๐
Through her love for my kids and her random act of kindness my kids had the best Christmas ever!
The other time was when I get to work and I am told by one of my fellow employees that I have a meeting in the back. So for an hour I sit back there with my manager going over things and the whole time she is smiling.
An employee interrupts the “meeting” and says we are needed up front. So, I proceed out the door and my manager just says don’t cry because if you do I will too.
Well, there were bags of things on the counter with my kids names on them. And a card….yeah, I cried as I read the card.
Guess the customers thought we were nuts as we were all crying and hugging each other. Love those ladies to the moon.
My nominees are ๐ฃ๐ฃ๐ฃ
Amy at A New Life
John at The Eclectic Contrarian
Yonnie at In His Care
Come on guys share those stories ๐
Aww. ~sniff, sniff~ That’s so cool.

Thanks. Keep me in your prayers as I’m a bit down with a bunch of “stuff” coming at me. People can be so mean sometimes that it’s hard to remember the good out there. Sad, I know….
