The Wrong Way vs. The Right Way

Allow me to share something with you that has been on my mind here of late.

Men…we suck. Some of us more than others.

We have “Christian” men that physically abuse their wife…WRONG!

We have “Christian” men that verbally abuse their wife…WRONG!

We even have “Christian” men who will forcefully have sex with their wife…WRONG! Submission is NOT a word that means you have a right to force your wife to do anything in the marriage bed that she does not want to do.

We have  Christian men that do not pray with their wife…much less for them…WRONG!

We have “Christian” men who while walking in a mall holding holds with their wife will do a neck breaker to do a double take of the woman that just walked by…WRONG!

We have “Christian” men who come home from work and sit in front of the TV till time to go to bed without  raising a single hand to help their wife….WRONG!

We have “Christian” men that go to church that don’t even pray…WRONG!

Heck, we have “Christian” men that don’t even go to church….WRONG!

We have “Christian” men addicted to pornography, over eating, alcohol, drugs and work… WRONG!

We have “Christian” men that other people see and say to themselves, if that is a “Christian” then I do not need their God….WRONG!

We have “Christian” men who would rather watch tv than spend quality time with their kids…WRONG!

Men, we are called to love our wife as Christ loves the church and gave Himself for her. He did not come to earth and become a man of anger with a hammer and sickle and destroy the church. He came to die so the church could have life through true servant hood.

In that manner should we treat our wives, children and those around us…with love..RIGHT!

We should be feeding our wives words of affirmation…RIGHT!

We should be the one on Sunday morning making sure everyone is up and ready for worship…RIGHT!

We should be a man of honor..RIGHT!

We should be a man of integrity…RIGHT!

We should be a man of servant hood helping with the dishes, cleaning the house and washing clothes…RIGHT!

We should be an example of Christ in the home and out of the home to draw people to a relationship with Christ through our behavior and lifestyle…RIGHT!

Guys, God wants to wake us up out our sleeping state and become the men He wants us to be! Allow God to work in your life. Seek Him diligently with all your heart…you will find Him! His Word is clear on that one! Be the man, the husband, the father, the sexual man, and the employee God wants you to be!

  1. You hit the nail on the head with this post. Sorry I am a little behind in my reading so you are getting my comment late. When men treat their women the way God says they should be treated, they will never leave their side. Especially when you reference ‘feeding our wives words of affirmation’. Women are caretakers, when they feel needed an loved, they thrive. This goes the same for men too so don’t just nod your heads at this ladies because your man needs to know that he is appreciated as well. You want to keep him, show him how much you appreciate him.

    1. Thank you Kerri. It is so true that men need words of affirmation as well. I find it amazing that those words usually come from my mom and friends, such as yourself, and not by the one I needed to hear it from the most….my ex.

      1. We all find our need for growth at different times in our lives and then there are some that don’t recognize their need for change at all and cut themselves short by standing in judgement, blocking their own blessings. We can learn from them as well by recognizing the person that you don’t want to be, still loving them (even if at a distance) but at the same time, striving for high ground.

  2. I agree! There is no one way in the marriage, we’re both an equal and the home should be cared for by both.
I was recently watching a YouTube – very successful, housewife, married with no children. I was surprised to see her cleaning, cooking, washing clothes, choosing her husbands work clothes, ironing it and packing his lunch for work. 😳
Is it me or are we not in 2018?! And it’s not to compare, but heck, if I cook, my husband cleans and vise versa. I’m a housewife, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to feel like I have to take on the entire home load just because I stay home.
    Great post!

    1. Thank you. Some wives truly enjoy doing that for their husband with or without kids 🙂

But, for me personally, I feel it is not right. I know I couldn’t let the one I love do everything. Plus, the way I show my love and appreciation is through acts…I think it would kill me to NOT help and do things around the house.

      1. Yes, I’ve met a few and then others that at the end resent the husbands for not helping. But then there are husbands that need to be told to help, others just do.
I agree, I think serving the other is a way to express our love and gratitude for one another. God truly does things perfect because I for one have been a wife that has been through many surgeries which equal extensive recovery time. I don’t think my household would have survived with just having the ‘mother’ take on all the responsibilities.
