First off, allow me to thank Kathy from Maggie Tiggles for not only nominating me to participate in the Quips, Idioms And Lingo Tag but also for creating it!
Secondly…Kathy, I’m so sorry this almost took a whole month! I have a tendency to overthink things and I did it on this…like four times and deleted each one. Then I read Amy’s and was ok I get it now. And it still took me a week…ughhh.
Here are the rules:
- Come up with as many quips, idioms, and weird sayings as you can think of. Comb your (or someoneβs) memory or the Internet for old or new; or, make up your own!
- Weave them into any kind of story β fiction, non-fiction, humorous, serious, thoughtful, or fluff β to post on your blog.
- Tag whoever you want to. Notify your tag
So without further procrastinating…..I hope I do not let you down…
Ok kids. Put your seatbelts on. We are off like a herd of turtles!
Five minutes into the drive I hear…Are we there yet?
As we drive to our designation I feel as if I am in the movie The Apple Dumpling Gang…with the whole I gotta go…
Once we get to our destination it is now officially raining cats and dogs.
The kids are rightfully upset.
Window shopping does nothing for the mind of a child, as Brandon once said Daddy, we don’t need windows we need toys…
On any road trip you come to realize you can’t please everyone all the time, as there is just not enough time to see everyone. Yet it still feels as if you have gone around the world in 80 days and you need a vacation from your vacation!
And yet the rat race calls and back to real life and adulting…blah!!
The rat race….why does it always feel like we are robbing Peter to pay Paul.
We are just trying to survive paycheck to paycheck…not keep up with Jones’
But, I do know where my treasure lays. It is not with the Jones’ or at the end of the rainbow, but rather high above even where eagles dare to fly…in Heaven where my Father is!
My nominees are:
Laura at All The Shoes I Wear
Michelle at Mws R Writings
Kristian at Life Lessons From Around The Dinner Table
John at The Eclectic Contrarian
I look forward to reading yours π
This is awesome! Love the last line!

Excellent, Stuart, well done!
I’m sorry this caused you so much stress. π£ Glad you loosened up after Amy’s.
I like your message a lot, too, besides the way you delivered it. β€

Thank you so much Kathy! It’s ok, as I said I have a tendency to overthink sometimes. Heck, I do it on posts I’m trying to write. They will stay in draft mode for weeks before I finish them.
I’m glad you liked the message. Thanks for the chance to expand myself in my writing. I’ve never done something like this before π
