My Weekend Be Like This Tag

Thank you Gail for nominating me for this tag. I think it is a cool way to step out of my box like I did by giving you a glimpse into my life outside my blog and share some of my routine…whatever routine is.

As some of you know I was laid off recently…so my weekend started early. More on that in a few.

I had basically a 6 day weekend. I took Brandon and Erin bowling Wednesday as well as out to eat. We ate at a new Thai restaurant. The kids have eaten there before and wanted to go back.

On my gosh! They have sushi burritos. So yeah, we all had one. They were off the chain. No pictures though. Let’s just say we will be going to eat there a lot more πŸ™‚

Next came bowling. We had just enough time to bowl for two hours before having to be at the Taekwondo school for 5:30. Here are a few photos of Brandon and Erin bowling.

We had so much fun. When it wasn’t Erin’s turn she was watching this cool little boy three lanes over. When he let the ball go he would lay on the floor guiding the ball with his arms and then jump up all excited when it hit the pins. It was so much fun to watch his enthusiasm.

We had a blast and have made plans for future bowling excursions.

Thursday comes around and I started a new job. I’m blessed to have had you all praying for me. Thank you so much!! Ten hour shifts Monday thru Friday 7:30 to 5:30. This interferes with seeing the kids daily to some extend and makes me late for Celebrate Recovery on Thursdays. It will also cut down on a lot of my blogging time. So I may have to go back to one post a week plus the Sunday Music posts.
But it is a job πŸ™‚

The call to employment for Thursday made Wednesday so much more special for me. For now I know that days like that will be scarce again.

Friday after work Brandon and I go out to eat as usual. Friday is our Father/son night πŸ™‚ And we went to Walmart to rent a couple of movies and buy some supplies so he could make his glow in the dark slime.

Saturday morning is always spent at the Taekwondo school watching all the kids prepare for the next competition.

This video is of Erin practicing her Extreme Weapons Bow staff form.

This video is of Brandon practicing his.

The rest of Saturday was spent vegging out on the couch catching up on reading your blogs and social media. Trying to write a few blog posts while maintaining

Today, Sunday, is another relaxing day. Well..kind of relaxing. I’m sitting here watching I Can Only Imagine while trying not to cry. That feeling of not being good enough is a doosy at times. Forgiving people who have hurt you…yeah, I needed this movie today. Thank you Father for loving me enough to put up with me.

I’m going to be different this time. I’m not going to nominate a bunch of bloggers. I’m going to nominate my friends.

So with that said…if any of you want to share your weekend please feel free to do so πŸ™‚

  1. My weekend? Paperwork (which I detest and disagree with the wife on how to do), blogging, sleep, preparing all the meals for my wife and I, and replacing an important N scale turnout whose plastic ties I’d melted while soldering feeder wires!. And visiting our garden in back—we have a tomato plant that thinks it’s a bush—-and trying to become a very fruitful tree! πŸ™‚

  3. Congrats on the new job Stuart! Our five children are all grown up now so weekends usually involve us babysitting our grandchildren at one house or another. Any time you spend with your children is time well spent. And the grandchildren, well they are gifts in so many ways. It will all work out, just be there when you can and cherish the time because they grow up way too fast. Grace and blessings!

    1. Thanks Bruce. Oh Lord I don’t want to think of grands yet…lol. I’ll be like 70 before the first one is even a thought. Time is our most valued commodity. I try to give as much to them as I can πŸ™‚ Blessing to you as well!

  4. Fun much! Now I’m looking forward to my munchkins growing big enough to go bowling. You’re blessed, Stu, beyond what you even know. Enjoy your holiday, it’ll end soon and you’ll be back to work πŸ˜ƒ

    1. You are so right! I am blessed beyond my understanding. They will big enough quicker than you think. Enjoy their littleness. There are times I look and Brandon and Erin and truly miss the littleness of their younger years. When I could just pick them up and hold them in my arms, on my back or shoulders.
