Through All Of It

We have been singing this song as part of our worship at Richland Celebrate Recovery for a while now and every single time I cuts me to the core.

Because…

After all the wrong choices…

After all the fear…

After all the doubts…

After all the times I fell back into sin…

Even after all the right choices…

After all the times I got back up to fight again…

After all the times of clarity

I look back…

And I see God’s hand through all of it.

He turned all the things the devil meant for my destruction into…well…the man I am today.

A man who is not afraid to admit when he falls.

A man who is not afraid to share his past in hopes of helping others.

A man who now breaks down in tears when he talks about how precious sex is.

A man who forgives because he has been forgiven.

A man who prays for those who struggle, no matter what that struggle may be.

A man who loves deeply because he is deeply loved.

All because God has been there through all of it and will continue to be there for all of it.

Thank you Father for your love and forgiveness. May I continue to follow your ways and not my own. May others always see you in me. Thank you for always being there for me.

  2. Amen, Amen, Amen! What a God we serve. I love how King David said this best: ” He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;” – Psalms 113:7. This is best seen in the story of the Prodigal Son and how he “came to himself” and realized that he needed to go to the Father (I’m getting choked up as I type this). And when the father saw him…he RAN toward him. I’m so glad the Lord finds sinners where they are at (like us) and calls us to be saved!

  5. Stuart, this post is so beautiful. Thank you for showing us again and again how great God is and that He makes all things good. You’re such an inspiration to so many, never forget that God’s light shines brightly through you 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Destiny. You and your mom both always encourage me to keep going, pressing forward and to share. I just want people to know that if God for the worst of sinners, He can do the same in their life.
