Blogger Recognition Award 2018

Wow…yeah, I’m floored! Stefan from The Fourth Dimension Of Life has just nominated me for the Blogger Recognition Award. I’m still reeling from the Liebster Award and the privilege of being able to participate in the 3 Day Quote Challenge. I can’t thank my fellow bloggers enough for the community that we share and the friendships that are growing. What a blessing it is.

Thank you Stefan for this nomination. I am humbled brother.

Guys, stop by and read his reason for starting his blog. I loved it πŸ™‚

Here are the rules:

1. Write a post to show your award.
2. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4. Give two pieces of advice for new bloggers.
5. Select other bloggers you want to give this award to.
6. Nominate 2-3 bloggers who you believe deserve to be recognized. Comment on their blogs, to let the nominees know they have been nominated.

Let’s get the party started.

I started my blog back in 2013 as a means of sharing thoughts and ideas on how to be the spiritual leader of the family and as a way to write down some things about my struggle with pornography. I simply didn’t want men to make the same mistakes I made and have their marriage end in divorce like mine did.

I don’t write for fame or money. I write to give hope. I write to make people think. I write for my readers who do, sometimes, share with me how their lives have been touched by the Lord, like this comment from a reader when he ran across the Dear Porn Star: Please Forgive Me post.

Stuart, I was in the casino yesterday morning and for some strange reason started to look at Facebook. The first thing I saw was a link to “something to Stu over” so I tapped it and began to read right there at a slot machine. I might add that this was Sunday morning at the time I should of been in church. The blog was about you asking forgiveness from a porn star. As I read thru your blog, a friend of mine leaned over my shoulder to see what I was doing and began reading the blog also. As we read thru the blog we looked at each other about halfway thru and both of us had tears in our eyes. I cannot explain but the presence of God was so all over us it was unbelievable!!! It was so inspiring to read and I want you to know that God is using you because God spoke to me thru your words! Keep up the wonderful work of God. I love you brother!

And then there is this one from a trafficking victim…

Thank you, Stuart. Thank you. Now I’m the one sitting here crying.

25 years ago, I was a victim of sex trafficking. Sometimes, those rapes were recorded. I have no idea what happened to those tapes or how many people may have seen them.

It was only last week I was finally able to share that particular detail of what happened to me. Now, God has used your words to let me know he is aware of me, and what I have been through, and he will continue to help me heal.

Thank you.

That my dear friends is why I do what I do. That is why I share my story and my thoughts.

For all the new bloggers out there the only advice I have is this:

1: Be real and share from your heart.

2: Read other blogs. If it touches you in any way, shape or form let them know. Share with them why it did touch you. Give encouragement to others. Trust me…they will return it two-fold. Build your community…your support system.

Oh geez, now I have to nominate a few. There are so many wonderful people out there, sharing their lives with us, who deserve recognition. This is always the hardest part for me, but here it goes…

  2. I held back those tears. Many times I have asked myself why I write, and the only answer that comes is etched in the words of those testimonies you have shared . . . to see lives transformed by OUR story. Thank you Stu, you are a voice, and by God’s grace will always be.
