3 Day Quote Challenge: Day 2!

Today is day 2 of the “3 Day Quote Challenge” that I was nominated to participate in by Gail over at Gail Loves God and Amy at Awakening Wildflower. Thank you both so much. Day 1 is behind us…so here is day 2!

The rules are as follows:

Thank the person who nominated you.
Post a quote for 3 days, and explain why it appeals to you.
Nominate bloggers each day!

Pretty simple right? Yeah, not for someone as sporadic in his writing as me, but hey, I have two days in a row.

For day 2, I have chosen another pastor’s words. Words spoken over me shortly after giving my testimony at a Men’s Conference in Alabama.

Here is the day 2 quote:

Sometimes God redeems your story by placing people in your life that need to hear your story, so that your past does not become their future.
~Author Unknown~

When that pastor, unfortunately I can not remember his name, spoke that over me during that prayer meeting, I was floored. That phrase, along with the others he spoke brought me to my knees, right there at the altar.

It wasn’t long until it came to fruition as more men heard my story.

Everyone of us has a story. Everyone has a friend, who is thinking of doing something crazy, going through a struggle or has been through a lot and are questioning their faith and maybe even themselves.

Our job, as their brother or sister in Christ, is to be there for them. We can offer them guidance through scripture and some insight based on our own experiences

Share your story. Maybe…just maybe…someone will hear it and realize they are not alone. Hopefully, your past will not become their future as they grab that insight from your experience and apply it to their lives.

Today’s nominees are:

Stefan over at The Fourth Dimension Of Life
Ann over at Trying To Resurrect Hope From A Broken Marriage
Michele over at Hippy Chic

For those I nominated please understand you do not have to participate if you chose not to. It’s just something fun and challenging.

  1. powerful, convicting, and encouraging. It’s comments like this that take my “how in the world could use anything so ugly as my past, Lord?” and help me to hear God saying, “It’s not about your past. It’s someone else’s future… a very unnecessary life can be avoided for someone else if you would keep your focus AND trust on me.”
    God bless you, brother!

    1. Thanks for your kind words Gail. I never ever thought God would use my past…but He has. I went through what I did for a reason, just as Paul, Peter, David and many others before us.

      God bless sis!

    1. It’s all good Stefan. I should have told you the day I wrote the post. My bad!

  3. It’s amazing what your quote means to me . . . it’s like you have told my life story. I’m happy that many more people will realise that sharing their story is another means of deliverance for others. Thank you. And look, I went and nominated Gail after my first day, when she was the one who nominated you. This cycle is beautiful. I’ll go over to check on hers.

    1. I am humbled by your words. There is power in ones story that most don’t realize as there is always hope to the people hearing it, irregardless of the struggle.

Gail has seriously inspired me simply with her comments much less with her posts 🙂

      God bless!

  4. God is so heartwarming the way He keeps that cycle of inspiring encouragement going! The both of you have been such instruments of God lifting me up when my spirit is so in need of it!
I love God’s people being in love with Him… and passionate about loving one another! ❤
Me and God love you both!

  5. Wow, that is an amazing quote! I’m going to have to keep a copy of that one in my files! Nobodies past is wasted time if they can help someone else through the same thing or to avoid that same thing altogether. Love it!💖
