Goodbye 2017 Welcome 2018

You know people will tell me that they love my blog because it is real, honest and about life. Real issues for real people kinda thing.

And I truly appreciate the fact that many do find my blog interesting.

When I started this blog, I was still struggling with a porn problem and a divorce. I simply wanted to share my struggles so others could hopefully learn from my mistakes. There is this saying that I love so much…

Sometimes God redeems your story by placing people in your life that need to hear your story, so that your past does not become their future.

But in order for that to happen I needed to be upfront and honest about it all. As broken as I was the night God freed me from my decades of porn usage and sexual immorality I still had to be real. Hence came Dear Porn Star: Please Forgive Me. One of, if not, the hardest things I have ever written.

And maybe that is why I have such a heart for women whose boyfriend or husband struggles with pornography. Or maybe it’s because God changed my heart so drastically in reference to sex and what it means that I can’t help but hurt for women who are struggling in a sexless relationship due to porn and adultery. (More on this in a later post)

But as the years have gone by my writing has changed. I feel for the better. And I hope you would agree with that statement, as I have tried hard to continue writing honest and real posts about everyday struggles…not just pornography.

I know I still bounce around at times. My thoughts just can’t come together coherenly if the subject matter is something I’m passionate about.. no matter how hard I try to stay focused.

I’ve written about fatherhood, marriage, pornography, broken promises, physical touch, sex and simply living life… with ALL its struggles. If you look closely, you will see a snippet of my life and struggles in each post.

Thank you all for an amazing year. It has been a true pleasure to share with you and I will continue as the Lord leads. I will still be sporatic at times I’m sure.

  1. Very glad I came by your blog! I don’t follow many people but Yours always blessed me. May the truth of God continue prevail in your life!

  2. I liked this a lot! As the spouse of a recovering lust addict, I appreciate your sentiments. And, thank you for following my blog “Walking Wounded.” It is my second WordPress blog. The primary one is “Run With It.” The second one is sort of a byproduct or a sub-blog to the first, as its primary purpose is to share my life story.

I also liked this quote, but could you tell me it’s source?: “Sometimes God redeems your story by placing people in your life that need to hear your story, so that your past does not become their future.”

    1. Thank you for your kind words and for following my blog Sue.

That saying is one I have used for the past five years while counseling men with their porn struggle as well as with Celebrate Recovery when I give the lessons. It was actually spoken over me by a pastor right after he prayed over me at a men’s conference.
