This world is so jacked up.
Pornography is rampant IN the church! And it is not just a guy thing. Women struggle almost as much as men.
Statistically speaking half of all males, both young and old, have either viewed porn or view it regularly. To me that says that half the men IN the church struggle with this in one form or another. And this includes pastors, deacons, bishops, Sunday School teachers, laymen of the church and that young man sitting two pews in front of you.
Statistically one third, and climbing, of woman are in the same situation.
My question is HOW do we deal with the situation when we do not know that there is one.
For me the answer is this:
WE MUST BE REAL!!!
We can no longer walk into church with our little masks on and having everyone believe that we have it all together, while our neighbor, who does not go to church, knows differently.
That is what the world calls being a hypocrite.
The reason we go to church is to worship God who sent His Son Jesus Christ to die an excruciating death on the cross to forgive us of the very sins we are trying to hide. But we should also go to become disciples….to learn how to be a follower of Christ.
The closer we get to God the more we will want things in our lives, that hurt Him, to go away.
The closer we get to God the more righteous and holy we should want to become.
Our daily prayer should be…
Father, break my heart for what breaks yours.
Please understand that a struggle with porn IS not something you should tackle on your own. I tried that and I failed miserably. It was not until I told someone of my situation that change started to take place in my life.
So we MUST get rid of the “I’m fine” mask and speak honestly and openly with our brothers or sisters in Christ.
Confess your faults one to another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16
It does not say to pick and choose which fault to confess…it just says to confess.
So confess dear friend and let the freedom start.
